  1. Math competition

    Published

Today I participated in the TD Canada Trust Math Competition at LU. I went last year too, although it was at the college then because of a strike at the university.

I don't think I did too well at the individual portion. Part of the reason was that some of the questions involved stuff I simply haven't learned yet. As for the team competition...I think we did reasonably well. Again, I felt a bit…

  2. I was all ready to have a nice, simple breakfast. One glass for Kool-aid, one bowl for cereal. Cereal goes in the bowl. Then I went to get some Kool-aid to fill up my glass so that I could take an infernal allergy-relief pill, and... BAM!

Apparently, my hand thought that the bowl was the glass, and I immersed my cereal in Kool-aid!

There wasn't much I could do. It was, unfortunately, the last of…

  3. Batman Begins

    Published

Wow. What an awesome movie. I was a bit sceptical at first, especially because the beginning is a bit confusing. But I got into it afterward--it probably helps that Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine are two of my favourite actors. All around though it's a great movie. There are just those moments when Batman saves the day and you've just got to yell out, "Yes!" so loud that the other people in the room think…

  4. Monday, Monday, Monday!

    Published

Gather round, children, and hear a story from me as I rot my teeth with lemonade, licorice, and Coke. :D

Tonight we had another Black Light performance, this time at Hillcrest High School. Initially we were going to perform in the afternoon too, but that one got cancelled, leaving only the night one. As soon as I got home from school, Wanda picked me up and we drove to Hillcrest, arriving at around 4:30. From…

  5. Une excursion francaise?

    Published

My French class went on a field trip today. We went to "Kingfisher Outdoor Education Centre". It's a place down near Kingfisher Lake where they teach students about biology and the environment and stuff, and it's a neat place to visit. Our French teacher, Mme. Ben Sari, arranged for us to take the trip so that we could practice our French (the guides don't speak French, but we could speak in French to each other…

  7. Next time you and your family sit down in front of the television to watch your favourite new episode of whatever show you like to watch, try the following game. It's really cool and could liven up what might otherwise be a dull evening, especially if no one spontaneously combusts.

We all know that product placement is becoming increasingly common. As personal video recorders allow people to skip commercials, companies have to find other ways…

  8. The fever!

    Published

Ugh, it is spring. For most this means the return of green things and the celebration of warm weather. I love those too. But for me it also brings the seeds of hay fever, and I must endure weeks of stuffed up noses, phlegmy throats, and puffy eyes. I can feel it already, eh.

This was day two of me not doing anything. I should really do something. I managed to make a start…

  9. Good Friday, eh?

    Published

I didn't do anything interesting today. It was my brother's birthday (happy 14th, Brad!) but I have not accomplished much. Maybe I'll do some more writing before I go to bed. I have a slideshow due on Tuesday for computer science too--"Pervasiveness of Computers in Everyday Life". It shouldn't be too hard once I get around to doing it.

Now I'm watching The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and doing nothing.…
